Winnie Sue Sanders Cannon

Winnie Sue Sanders Cannon, age 83 of Springville, TN, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at her residence in Springville, TN.

She retired from Salant & Salant after several years of work as a seamstress.  She later worked at Henry County Nursing Home and a Walmart of Camden as a greeter.  She was a foster parent for many years to children in Henry County.  She attended church for many years at Henry County Tabernacle.  She enjoyed gardening, singing, and playing the guitar.

Sue was born June 4, 1934, in Mansfield, TN, to the late Wayne French and the late Lillian Sanders French.

She was married June 10, 1950, to Buford Sanders, who preceded her in death on December 29, 1990.  She later married Robert Cannon, who also preceded her in death on November 30, 2009.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Cole of Paris, TN; two sons, Ricky Sanders of Springville, TN, and Larry Sanders of Springville, TN; two sisters, Vickie (Mitchell) Smith of Springville, TN, and Sheila (Monty) McCartney of Henry, TN; one brother, Doyle (Cindy) French of Springville, TN; two grandchildren, Catherine Woods and Morgana Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, first husband, and second husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles Sanders and Phillip Sanders; three sisters, Helen McClain Eubanks, Barbara McClain, and Peggy Williams; two brothers, William “Big Bud” French and Walter “Little Bud”; and two grandchildren, Anna Sanders and Amber Dortch.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 30, 2018, at 11:00 am at Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery in Springville, TN, with Dwight Turner officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow in Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery.
