Willodene Hansel Jackson

Willodene Hansel Jackson, age 86 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at her residence in Paris, TN.

She retired from Sears in Memphis, TN, as a legal assistant.  She also formerly worked as a real estate broker.  She was a member of Como Church of Christ.  Willodene enjoyed going to auctions, shopping, watching The Voice, and talking on the phone daily with her friends.  She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also loved Tennessee Lady Vols basketball, especially March Madness, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Willodene was born January 6, 1932, in Cottage Grove, TN, to the late Raymond Leroy Hansel and the late Elinor Pickard Hansel.

She was married May 13, 1949, to her first husband, Toy Lee Jackson, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2006.  She later married Thurman Bennett on September 4, 2009, who survives, of Chicago, IL.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by one son, Steven Hansel “Steve” (Stacey) Jackson of Paris, TN; one daughter, Denise Bennett and companion, Irma Lopez of San Antonio, TX; other sons, Duane Bennett of Chicago, IL, and David (Cindy) Bennett of Chicago, IL; 13 grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Jackson, Tyler Houston Lee Jackson, Zachary Frank (Stephanie) Hulett, Lauren Bennett, Brooke Bennett, Dayle Bennett, Brad Bennett, Leigh Anne Bennett, Michelle Shimizu, James Bennett, Cody Bennett, Elise Bennett, and Jacob Prieto; and three great grandchildren, Owen Taylor Wood, Felix Frank Hulett, and Madalynn Grace Jackson.

Along with her parents and first husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Dale R. Bennett.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Rex Buford and David Alan Jackson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Steve Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Gary Morris, Johnny Smith, Gary Jones, and Roger Clendenin.  Named as honorary pallbearers are David Alan Jackson and Rex Buford.

Burial with be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
