Willodean "Tincy" Overby

Willodean “Tincy” Overby, age 76 of Puryear, TN, died Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Obion County Nursing Home in Union City, TN.

She was a homemaker who attended Russwood Baptist Church in Springville, TN.  Tincy formerly worked at Markel Lighting and Plumley Rubber Company in Paris.  She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and always had a great outlook on life.

Willodean was born April 10, 1945, in Puryear, TN, to the late E.L. Buck Norman and the late Maudlean Hendrix Norman.

She was married August 8, 1961, to Lonnie “Sonny” Overby, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Myra Overby of Puryear, TN; her son-in-law, Allen Elkins of Union City, TN; two sisters, Kathy Norman Myers of Springville, TN, and Faye Hudson of Louisville, KY; one brother, George (Kathy) Norman of Huntingdon, TN; one sister-in-law, Betty Boane of Paris; seven grandchildren, Angela (Ronnie) Barr, Heather (Chris) Underwood, Desiree Overby, Brandon Overby, Cory Overby, Dalton Overby, and April Elkins; and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four children, Lonnie Dale Overby, Stephen Lynn Overby, Teresa Marie Elkins, and Brian Earl Overby; one sister, Treva Berkley; and one brother, William “Bill” Norman.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Monday, May 24, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Raymond Eaton officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dalton Overby, Chris Underwood, Brandon Overby, Cory Overby, Ronnie Barr, and Adam Underwood.

Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery in Paris, TN.
