William J. "Bud" Dowdy

William J. “Bud” Dowdy, age 56 of Cottage Grove, TN, died Friday, August 12, 2022.

He was a package driver for United Parcel Service where he had worked for 15 plus years.  Bud was a “family man” and his children and grandchildren were his world.  He helped start a van ministry at New Life Baptist Church in Henry, TN over 20 years ago.  He enjoyed hunting, tinkering with things, and was an avid sports fan.

Bud was born December 27, 1965, in Memphis, TN, to the late Gerald McLean Dowdy and the late Barbara Ann Nance Dowdy.

He was married November 18, 1989, to Robin C. Dowdy, who survives, of Cottage Grove, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by three children, Britney (Larry) Pierce of Cottage Grove, TN, Cody (Dawn) Dowdy of Ardmore, TN, and Brandon (Jessica) Dowdy of Ottawa, KS; one brother, Gerald Wayne Dowdy of Memphis, TN; and three grandchildren, Mallorie Pierce, Evan Caruso, and Lawton Dowdy.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated with no services planned at this time.
