William "Bill" Smith

William Edward “Bill” Smith, age 72, of Paris, Tenn., died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.

He was a carpet layer with Morgan Funiture Company for 30 years, then was self-employed and worked in the construction business for several years.  He was also a US Army Vietnam Veteran and lifetime member of the V.F.W.

Bill was born May 31, 1944 in Paris, TN to the late James Edward Smith and the late Evelyn Ruth Tucker Hastings.

He is survived by his  three Daughters, Marsha Carlton and special friend Dave Smith of Paris, Tenn,  Darla (Mark) Morgan of Murray, Ky, and Teresa (Brian) Atkins of Paris, Tenn;  two Sisters, Helen (Graziano) Gandini of Las Vegas, Nev, Dorothy Lindsey of Chicago, Ill;  three Brothers, Bobby (Vickie) Smith of Paris, Tenn, Dale (Pam) Hastings of Paris, Tenn, and Larry (Beverly) Hastings of Camden, Tenn;  four Grandchildren, William Carlton, Walker Carlton, Kayla Pagan, and Kelsy Light.

Besides his parents, He was also preceded in death by a Sister, Mary Sue Payne;  Brothers, Gene Smith, Gilbert Hastings, David Hastings, and George Hastings.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Friday, July 15, 2016 and from 10 am – 1 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016.   The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 with Gary Collier officiating.    Pallbearers will be Dale Hastings, Larry Hastings, Bobby Smith, Chris Hendrix, Randy Hendrix, Jeff Hill, William Carlton and Walker Carlton.

Interment will be at Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, Tenn.
