William “Bill” Bussey, age 74 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the Henry County Healthcare Center.
Bill was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He was a retired police officer from the City of Paris after 20 and half years of service. Prior to working for the City of Paris, he retired from the TVA police after 23 years, where he served as Chief of the Western District, which spanned from Kentucky to Chattanooga. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Bill enjoyed playing golf, driving his two hot rods, and spending time with his beloved dog Tilly.
Born November 19, 1943, in Mayfield, KY, he was the son of the late Willie Bussey and the late Mary Pauline Perryman Bussey.
Bill is survived by his wife Wanda Forrest Bussey of Paris. They were married June 19, 1996. Along with his wife, survivors include one son, Tony Bussey of Chattanooga, TN; one sister, Betty (Larry) Treas of Benton, KY, and a grandson, Will Bussey.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one brother, Robert “Bob” Bussey.
Ridgeway Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 11 am – 1pm, with his funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home conducted by Emily Walker.
Pallbearers for the service are Scott Treas, John Treas, Vince Doon, Daryl Stalls, Mark Archer and Dickie Bomar. Ed Reagor and Larry Treas are named as Honorary Pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
