Verlin Wade

Verlin Wade, age 90, longtime resident of Buchanan, TN, died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden.

He retired from the Paris Board of Public Utilities after many years as a water department foreman.  He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea.  Verlin was a lifelong farmer in the Buchanan community.  He enjoyed chewing tobacco, farming, and woodworking.  He was Baptist by belief.

Verlin was born June 5, 1933, in Big Sandy, TN, to the late Eliza Plomer Wade and the late Attie Mae Vaughn Wade.

He was married March 21, 1963, to Orie Roberts Wade, who preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by his son, Randy (Cindy) Wade of Buchanan, TN; one grandson, Mark Randall Hendrix of Paris, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by five sisters; and four brothers.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  The body is to be cremated with a graveside memorial service to be held at Point Pleasant Cemetery on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 10 am.
