William Douglas “Bud” Nanney, age 90, of Henry, Tenn., died Monday, April 4, 2016, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.
He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 70 years. He had been chairman of the Deacons since 1966 and was the former Choir Director and was named Music Director Emeritus. Bud retired after many years at Holley Carburetor Plant. He was also a long-time farmer and he enjoyed woodworking. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, and a member of the McKenzie Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.
Bud was born August 31, 1925 in Henry, TN to the late William Robert Nanney and the late Lela Yarbrough Nanney.
Bud was married on December 18, 1948 to Orville Sanders Nanney of Henry, TN and she survives. They were married for 67 years. He is also survived by his one Daughter, Carol (Larry) Parrish of Henry, Tenn; one Son, Ronnie Nanney and Special Friend Ellen Hartsfield of Camden, Tenn; one Sister, Ruby Cozart of McKenzie, Tenn; one Half Sister, Katie Nanney Clark of Gleason, TN; six Grandchildren, Tim (Carol) Nanney, Hayley Nanney Ramos, Renae Parrish, Kristen Carper and Special Friend Jerry Stallions II, Amanda Bailey, and Ryan "Cartman" Parrish; and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Besides his Parents, he was also preceded in death by Step-Mother, Ila C. Nanney; Uncle and Aunt, Bozzie and Lizzie Ellis; a Sister, Mary Lee Blaylock; Step Sister, Laurine Dunn; Brother, James Nanney; Half Brother, Charles C. Nanney; and Grandchild, Darrin Parrish.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Wednesday, April 6, 2016 with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 10 am - 4 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Henry, TN. The Funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Kevin Gallimore, Wayne Perkins and John Sutton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ryan "Cartman" Parrish, Tim Nanney, Zach Carper, Jerry Stallions II, Tyler Webb, Josh Parrish, Braden Nanney, and Paul Neal. Named as Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Stallions III, Coltin Bailey, Nathan Nanney, Deacons of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Granddaughters, and Great Granddaughters.
Interment with Military Honors will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Henry, Tenn.
