Willard Jeffries, age 83 of Buchanan, TN, transitioned to heaven Thursday, November 1, 2018.
He retired after many years as a supervisor for several asphalt companies. He spent the longest time at Barber Greene in Aurora, IL, where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of Puryear Baptist Church in Puryear and the Moose Lodge in Aurora, IL.
Willard was born January 10, 1935, in London, KY. He was the son of the late Walter & Mattie Jeffries.
He was married July 2, 1955, to Genevieve Jones Jeffries, who preceded him to heaven in May 2000.
He leaves behind his daughter, Paulette (Mike) Smith of Paducah, KY; one sister, Maude “Jeff” (Ed) Humphreys of Florida; One brother, Elmore Roy (Jo) Jeffries of Aurora, IL; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dona Beu; a son, Ronald Baker; and 16 brothers and sisters.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Rhodes officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Gamlin, Doug Taylor, Butch Paschall, Jerry Goldman, Philip Smith, and Steve Junas.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Benefield, Scott Beu and Jeffrey Smith.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
