Walter Crawford “W. C.” Flowers, Sr., age 90, of Springville, Tenn., died Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn.

He was married December 28, 1946 to Martha Lucille Sanders Flowers, and she died November 12, 2011.

W. C. was a member and Deacon at Fairview Baptist Church.   He was a lifelong farmer who got his biggest thrill in life giving his grandchildren, great grandchildren & anyone willing to ride, truck ride tours of his farm.   He was a WWII Army Veteran who served in the European Theater in Field Artillery.  He took great pride in his military service and was a participant in the Veterans' Day Parade every year.

He was born April 10, 1923 in the Pleasant Hill Community to the late Walter Flowers and the late Mary D. Fryer Flowers.

He is survived by his Two Daughters,  Sherry (Joe) Genchi of Clifton, N.J.,  Susan (Don) Smith of Collierville, Tenn.;  Two Sons,  Walter Flowers & friend Evonne Kennedy of Springville, Tenn., David Flowers & friend Gabi Middleton of Paris, Tenn.;  One Sister, Curlie Ann Engdahl of Chicago, Ill.;
Grandchildren,  Emily Flowers & husband Steve Luxenberg, Walt Flowers, Andrew (Erica) Flowers,
Kimberly (Mike) Carrubba, Kari (Mark) Valcich, Joey Genchi, Matt (Brooke) Smith, Ryan Smith,
Natalie (Brent) Thurmond, Lydia Flowers,  and John David Flowers;   Great Grandchildren, Olivia Harber, Evan Flood, Claire Thurmond, Ella Thurmond, Dylan Carrubba, Grover Smith, and Trevor Flowers.

He was also preceded in death by,  Sister-Mary Bell Norwood;  Brother-Robert Flowers

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Monday, January 20, 2014.    Visitation will continue from 12 to1 pm  Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Fairview Baptist Church.    The Funeral Service will be at Fairview Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2014 ,

John Smith will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Haymes Cemetery in Springville, Tenn
