Walt Peterson, age 69 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, September 20, 2018, at his residence surrounded by family and friends.
He retired after many years as a representative in the manufacturing industry. He was a member and elder at First Christian Church in Paris. Walt was also a member, past president, and Paul Harris Fellow of the Paris Rotary Club. He was a current board member of the Henry County Healthcare Foundation and served on the Henry County CASA board. He was an avid University of Florida fan and a classic car enthusiast. Walt loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his community, and his Florida Gators. He fought with inspirational bravery and strength to stay with us and will be missed by many.
Walt was born March 1, 1949, in Wilmington, NC, to the late Robert Homer Peterson and the late Grace Coppage White.
He was married September 2, 1995, to Sally Caldwell Peterson, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Amy Marie Peterson of Nashville, TN, and Bethel (Jeffrey) Arrington of Auburn, AL; one son, Taylor Dean Peterson of Helena, AL; two grandchildren, Sophie Grace Arrington and Molly Rose Arrington; beloved dogs, Boom and Bonnie Blu; mother-in-law, Ann Caldwell of Paris, TN; two brothers-in-law, Bo (Kathy) Caldwell of Paris, TN, and Alf (Jane) Caldwell of Crestwood, KY; one niece, Christy Caldwell of Paris, TN; two nephews, Scott (Erin) Caldwell of Memphis, TN, and Ivan Caldwell of Crestwood, KY; great nieces and nephews, Miller & Eliza Caldwell of Memphis, TN, and Vivian Caldwell of Crestwood, KY; special friends, Christy Jo Harber, Megan Huston, and Maggie Reynolds; and best friends, Bo (Diane) Galloway, Gary (Joanne) Register, and Ted (Lisa) Cason.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. The body is to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at First Christian Church, 101 S. Poplar Street, Paris, TN 38242, with the memorial service to begin at 1:00 pm at First Christian Church, with Cory Glover, Megan Huston, and Christy Jo Harber officiating.
Named as honorary pallbearers are Bo Caldwell, Scott Caldwell, Bo Galloway, Gary Register, Ted Cason, Reed Gaines, Alf Caldwell, Don Coffman, Harlan Crawford, the elders of Paris First Christian Church, and members of the Paris Rotary Club.
