Wallace A. “Wally” LaRue, age 78 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at AHC of Paris.
He retired after a long career as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Memphis, TN at the Frayser branch. Wally was an avid golfer and a member of Maplewood Baptist Church in Paris.
Wally was born March 12, 1942, in Bassett, AR, to the late William Edward LaRue and the late Gertrude Ester Alexander LaRue.
He was married June 13, 2009, to Virginia McQueen “Gin” Larue, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by three children, Mark (Kimsey) LaRue of Bethel Springs, TN, Kenneth LaRue of Paris, TN, and Terry (Allison) LaRue of Germantown, TN; three stepchildren, Charles “Chuck” (Teresa) McQueen of Tyrone, GA, Michelle (Corey) Johanningmeier of Oakland, CA, and Kelly (Jesse) Newton of Hot Springs, AR; one brother, William A. “Dub” (Charlene) LaRue of Kingston, ID; eight grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia LaRue; one stepson, Chris McQueen; and two sisters, Betty Irwin and Becky Ruth.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. The body is to be cremated with a private graveside memorial service to be held at a later date.
