Virginia Sue Collins, age 96 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Charter Senior Living of Paris.
She retired after a 30 plus year career at Production Credit in Paris where she worked as an administrative assistant. She was a longtime member of East Wood Church of Christ in Paris. Virginia enjoyed playing cards with her friends, especially “Pitch”. In her younger years, she loved traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed gardening in the summertime and was a very good cook.
Virginia was born July 15, 1925, in the Como community of Henry County, TN, to the late Carlos L. Call and the late Annie M. Woodard Call.
She was married May 22, 1943, to Walter S. Collins, who preceded her in death on August 22, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Collins of Paris; her son, Jimmy (Joan) Collins of Knoxville, TN; one granddaughter, Whitney Collins; two great grandchildren, George Collins and Heath Collins; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorotha Bernice Hunter.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242. Visitation will be Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with John Dale officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Rayburn Thomason, Charlie Neal, Steve Delaney, Bill Dewees, and Michael Williams.
Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
