Virginia Gallimore

April 5, 1918 — April 20, 2016

Virginia Ann Gallimore, age 98, of Puryear, Tenn., died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at her residence in Puryear, Tenn.

Virginia worked many years at Puryear High School as a cook in the cafeteria.  She was a member of Foundry Hill Community of Christ Church and she was a former member of the Homemakers Club, an excellent seamstress, cook, and she loved music and playing games.

She was born April 15, 1918, in the Hico community of Henry County to the late James Otie Wade and the late Novie Melissa Nance Wade.

Virginia was married on October 9, 1936, to Daron Weldon Gallimore, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1979.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Orvil) Orr, and Kay (Hal) Underwood, both of Puryear, Tenn;  two sons, Weldon (Gayneita) Gallimore of Puryear, Tenn., and Byron (Missi) Gallimore of Thompson Station, Tenn; two sisters, Margie (Wilton) Thompson of Perry, Fla, and Bobbie Glisson of Chicago, Ill; 13 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great-great Grandchildren; and special caregivers, Diana Dunlap, Lanita Lassiter, Karol Boyd, and Robert “Bubba” Dunlap.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Cox and Faye Gibson; one brother, Clovis “Jack” Wade; and a granddaughter, Lisa Gallimore.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn, where the visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm Friday, April 22, 2016 and from 12 - 2 pm Saturday, April 23, 2016.  The funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2016.

Dale Gallimore and  Tellus "Mackie" Gallimore will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Andy Gallimore, Brad Gallimore, Eric Gallimore, Rex Gore, Bubba Dunlap, and Freddie Wade.    Named as Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Gallimore, Gary Gamlin, Mark Rudy, and the caregivers.

Interment will be at Foundry Hill Community of Christ Cemetery in Puryear, Tenn.
