Virginia Ruth Carter, age 88 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, October 26, 2019, at AHC Paris.
She was a homemaker and a member of Tennessee Valley Community Church in Paris. Virginia enjoyed fishing, RV-ing, traveling, and loved her family.
Virginia was born March 21, 1931, in Springfield, OH, to the late Carl Gross and the late Meryl Rubert Gross.
She was married October 15, 1949, to Ray Vensel Carter, who preceded her in death on July 28, 2003.
She is survived by one daughter, Lucinda Carter of Paris, TN; one son, Rodney (Rose Ann) Carter of Paris, TN; one sister, Bessie Louise Woodhouse of Rockledge, FL; two grandchildren, Mike Carter, and Sharel (Michael) Bieterman; and one great grandson, Austin Carter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Timothy Carter; one sister, Shirley Smith; and two brothers, Frank Gross and Ralph William Gross.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, and continue Tuesday, October 29, 2019, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Steve Gallimore officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Carter, Brad St. John, Don Bentley, and Johny St. John.
Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
