Vernon Melton

Vernon Clyde Melton, age 80 of Henry, TN, died Monday December 26, 2016 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.

Vernon was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for several years.  He retired from Haldex where he had worked for 40 years.  Vernon was a member of Woodmen of the World and he loved yard sales, auctions, antiques, and especially his antique truck.

Vernon was born August 3, 1936 in Paris, TN to the late Clyde Melton and the late Bertha Campbell Melton.

He was married on May 19, 1962 to Mary Ann Allen Melton who survives of Henry, TN.  He is also survived by one son, Vernon Lynn (Angela) Melton of Dresden, TN; one sister, Imogene (Howard) Welch of Knoxville, TN;  two grandchildren, Matthew Allen Breaux and Jessica Nicole Breaux; and two great grandchildren, Bralynn Breaux and Aspen Breaux.

Besides his parents, Vernon was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Elkins and Mozelle Gunter.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Wednesday December 28, 2016 from 4 – 8 pm and Thursday December 29, 2016 from 10 am – 1 pm.  The funeral service will be Thursday December 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Gallimore officiating.

Pallbearers will be Earl Williams, Mike Hall, Lonnie Allen, Mack Allen, Eddie Allen, and Gary Allen.   Deacons of Bethlehem Baptist Church and Claude Teague are named as Honorary Pallbearers.

Burial will follow in Bevil Cemetery.
