Veda Lee Williford

Veda Lee Williford, age 87 of Clinton, KY, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Clinton-Hickman County ICF Nursing Facility.  

She formerly worked as a CNA at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY, then owned & operated Mom’s Country Kitchen in Hazel, KY, and later worked at Murray Manor Nursing Home.  Veda loved cooking and gardening and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking them fishing.  She formerly attended Hazel Baptist Church in Hazel, KY, and Jesus Saves Baptist Church in Buchanan, TN.

Veda was born March 29, 1936, in Tallapoosa, MO, to the late Nute Lawrence and the late Mary McDaniel Lawrence.  

She is survived by one son, Paul Williford of Yukon, OK; one brother, Don (Marie) Lawrence of Rockford, IL; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Joetta Jetton, and Darlene Melton; and five brothers, Gerald, Marion, Virgil, Andrew, and Thomas Edgar Lawrence. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2023, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Chad Kennedy officiating.  

Family will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN.
