Thomas Burton Thompson

Thomas Burton Thompson, age 71 of Buchanan, TN, died Saturday, September 5, 2020, at his residence.

He retired after many years as a self-employed logger.  Thomas was a hard-working, family-oriented man, who was a good father and husband.  He was a good mechanic and worked on anything he could get his hands on.  He loved dogs and going fishing, and he enjoyed his fast cars and traveling.

Thomas was born December 29, 1948, in Paris, TN, to the late Albert Burton Thompson and the late Earlie Mae Dunn Thompson.

He was married to Lillian Ruth Lickert Thompson, who survives, of Buchanan, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by three daughters, Casandra Owens of Jackson, TN, Nicole Lickert of Buchanan, TN, and Amanda Tipton of Paris, TN; two sons, Thomas (Christie) Thompson, Jr., of Paris, TN, and Albert James (Tawny) Thompson of Buchanan, TN; and five grandchildren, Rachael Thompson, Abbey Thompson, Abby Thompson, Thomas “Junior” Thompson, II, and Candice Marie Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cassandra Fisher; two sisters, Darlene Thompson and Ruby May Thompson; and four brothers, Billy Thompson, Danny Louis Thompson, David Earl Reeves, and Albert Thompson.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated with no services planned at this time.
