The funeral for longtime heavy equipment operator Thomas Frank Doughty of Paris will be at noon Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Johnny Farmer will officiate. The body will be cremated after the service, with his remains to be buried in Lew Beach Cemetery in New York state.

Chosen as pallbearers are Louis Flexer, Patrick Dudney, Jack Anderson, Deon Mountain, James Smith Jr., and Patrick Barker.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday.

Doughty, 64, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his residence.

His wife, Janice Jean LaBaw Doughty, survives. They were married on Aug. 4, 1990.

Born Sept. 4, 1948, in Livingston Manor, N.Y., he was the son of the late Clarence Irvin Doughty and Helen Anna Husch Doughty.

Doughty was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for 34 years in Liberty, N.Y. A Vietnam War veteran, he received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star with Valor, the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Marksmanship Badge and President Accommodation Medal. He was a member of VFW.

He also leaves one son: Chad (Tiffany) Doughty of Huntington, W.Va.; two stepdaughters: Bobbi (Mark) Macor of Duluth, Minn., and Lori Ann Barker of Puryear; three stepsons: Patrick Barker of Horn Lake, Miss., Paul Barker of Hackensac, N.J. and George Scott (Sandra) Barker of Long Island, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
