Thelma T. Shankle

Thelma Thompson Shankle, age 96 of Buchanan, TN, died Monday, October 23, 2017, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.
She was a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church, and loved to babysit many who called her “Grandma.”
Thelma was born March 8, 1921, to the late Felix Thomspon and the late Cora Wimberley Thompson.
She was married June 21, 1941, to Hubert W. Shankle, who preceded her in death on January 11, 1997.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan (Donald) Paschall of Puryear, TN, Naomi (Jim) Scarbrough of Buchanan, TN, and Doris (Bill) Snow of Buchanan, TN; six grandchildren, Jamie (Erik) Mash, Bert (Lori) Snow, Corey (Tonea) Scarbrough, Eric Snow, Shannon (Rob) Zolnowski, and Heather (Ben) Hall; and 14 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Shankle; two sisters, Velma Lowry and Vernice Roberts; and one brother, Herman Thompson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2017, from 4 pm – 7 pm, and continue Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 11 am – 1 pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with John Dale officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bert Snow, Eric Snow, Corey Scarbrough, Austin Leach, Erik Mash, Ben Hall, Ross Wimberley, and Preston Henderson.
Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Springville, TN.
