Tex Oliver Watson, Sr.

Tex Oliver Watson, Sr., age 70 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY.

He retired after several years from Young Touchstone in Lexington, TN.  Tex enjoyed life and all its little adventures.  He loved spending time with all his grandchildren.  He enjoyed fishing and collecting coins.

Tex was born February 13, 1952, in Taylorsville, MS, to the late George Curtis Watson and the late Wilma Marcene Evans Watson.

He was married February 1970 to his wife of 48 years, Janice Louise Moore Watson, who preceded him in death in April 2018.

He is survived by his four children, Holly Lynn Lihl of Hattiesburg, MS, Crystal Gail Watson of Henry, TN, Tex Oliver Watson, Jr. (Kelly Bell) of Puryear, TN, and Curtis Ray Watson of Murfreesboro, TN; four sisters, Belinda Watson of Clarksville, TN, Barbara Stone of Huntingdon, TN, Angie Watson of Lexington, and Debbie Pitre of Luling, LA; two brothers, Rocky Watson of MS, and George Watson of Camden, TN; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son in infancy; one son-in-law, Wade Martin Lihl; and two brothers, Billy Watson and Roy Watson.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated.  A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11:00 am at Humbles Church Cemetery in Huntingdon, TN.

Burial of cremains will follow the graveside memorial service in Humbles Church Cemetery.
