Terrelene "Terre" France

Terrelene “Terre” France, age 63 of Cosby, TN, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Newport Health & Rehabilitation Center in Newport, TN.

She was a graduate of Graceland College in Lamoni, IA.  Terre retired in 2020 after many years as teacher at Cocke County High School in Newport, TN.  She formerly worked for the Tennessee Department of Human Services in Dresden, TN.  She was a member of the Community of Christ.

Terre was born August 29, 1957, in Chicago, IL, to the late Henry John Prager and Joann Cochran Pottorff, who survives, of Houston, TX.

Along with her mother, she is also survived by her lifelong companion, Jamie France of Cosby, TN; her son, Derrick Markley of Cosby, TN; one sister, Kathe (James) Tingle of Texas; and two nephews, Wesley Tingle and Dustin Prager.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Mark Prager; and her grandparents, Terrell & Alma Cochran.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242.  A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN, with Dale Gallimore officiating.

Burial of the cremated remains will follow the service in Olive Branch Cemetery.
