Tammy Hinson

Tamara “Tammy” Hinson, age 62 of Buchanan, TN, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

She was a 1977 graduate of Henry County High School in Paris and went on to attend Jackson State Community College in Jackson, TN.  After her schooling, Tammy became an EMT and was a longtime employee of Henry County EMS before retiring due to an illness.  She also served as a CPR and First-Aid instructor for over 10 years with the American Heart Association.  She was a hummingbird enthusiast who enjoyed fishing, gardening, and all things outdoors.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Tammy touched the lives of many with her desire to serve her community.  She displayed this service through her 28 years with the Paris Landing Community Fire Department, where she retired in 2019 at the rank of Assistant Chief.

Tammy was born April 29, 1959, in Point Pleasant, NJ, to the late Winford Ezzie Wilson and the late Lorraine Smith Bach.

She was married May 14, 1977, to Mark Hinson, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 15, 1993.

She is survived by her three sons, Jamie (Kelley) Hinson of Buchanan, TN, Brian Hinson of Buchanan, TN, and Mark Hinson, Jr., of Buchanan, TN; one sister, Sandy Poole of Dickson, TN; one brother, Tris (Penny) Wilson of Hickman, TN; and three grandchildren, Madison Hinson, Kiley Hinson, and Sophia Thompson all of Buchanan, TN.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Randy Wilson, Sr.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service will beginning at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Craig Peevyhouse officiating.

Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Paris Landing Community Fire Department and Henry County EMS.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
