Former Farm Bureau employee and Edward Jones administrative assistant Sue Winchester, 68, of Paris died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her residence.
She was married on March 10, 1962, to James Harold Winchester, who survives.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church.
Joshua and Scott Solowey and Trent Bullock will officiate. The Soloweys also will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
Also chosen as pallbearers are Trent Turner, Rod James, Larry Wilson and Bill Poynter, Dewey Williams and David Buller. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Compton, Chris Townsend, Phillip Jackson, Kelly Puckett, Larry Simmons, Clint Barrett, Bobby Williams, Robert Adams, Ted Bland and Jerry Jones.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Born Aug. 24, 1944, in Los Angeles, she was a daughter of the late Mack Williams and Valda Holmes Webb.
Her husband said she was a very active member of First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She also led Bible studies out of her home. A family member said she was well known for her fish fries and hush puppies and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship of her family and friends, especially the “Lunch Bunch.”
Her husband also said she died after courageously fighting ovarian cancer for 13 years. She ormerly worked at Farm Bureau in Paris and for Edward Jones in Paris before retiring from
Edward Jones in McKenzie.
She also leaves one daughter: Trudy (Scott) Solowey of Manchester; one brother: Dewey Williams of Dallas; a sister: Debby (David) Buller of Enid, Okla; two grandchildren: Tara (Trent) Turner of Paris and Joshua Solowey of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Terri Lynne Winchester, also preceded her in death.
