Steven "Steve" Herndon
October 15, 1969 — July 26, 2016
Steven Lee “Steve” Herndon, age 46, died Tuesday July 26, 2016, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. Steve had recently been diagnosed with colon cancer.
Born in October 15, 1969, in Paris, TN, he was the son of Danny Herndon of Paris and the late Brenda “Borenda “Dillion Blackburn. Steve was a self- employed handyman. He worked on homes as well as cars and anything else people ask him to fix. Steve formerly attended Fairview Baptist Church. Besides work, he enjoyed shooting pool, camping, hunting and fishing.
Along with his father, he is survived by his daughter: Kaylee Lyn Herndon of Smyrna, TN; two brothers: Darrell Ray Herndon of Paris and David Herndon of Mt. Juliet, TN; Aunts who served as caregivers: Linda Berry of Puryear and Judy Tate of Paris; nephews: Justin Ryan Herndon and Bryan Herndon both of Paris; and several other aunts and uncles.
An additional survivor, James Greer of Paris was a special friend along with a caregiver.
Visitation will be held Friday July 29, 2016 at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4 to 7 pm and continue on Saturday after 12 noon. The funeral service will be held in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home on Saturday at 2 PM, with Richard “Soup” Raymer officiating.
Burial will follow the service in Chalk Hill Cemetery in Camden, TN.
Friends and family members will serve as Pallbearers.
