Steve Nanney

James Steven “Steve” Nanney, age 65 of Paris, TN, died Friday, August 24, 2018, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam era.  He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Paris.  Steve was an avid University of Tennessee and Tennessee Titans football fan, and a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.  He played baseball, trying out for the Cincinnati Reds, and enjoyed playing golf.  He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church in Paris.

Steve was born September 1, 1952, in McKenzie, TN, to the late James Daniel Nanney and the late Lola Mae Throgmorton Nanney.

He was married July 23, 1999, to Teresa Lamb Nanney, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Matt (Tootie) Nanney of Paris, TN, and Dane Nanney of Anchorage, AK; one stepson, Josh Gallimore of Knoxville, TN; two sisters-in-law, Sheryl Nanney of Paris, TN, and Jeanne Lamb of Paris, TN; father-in-law, Charles Lamb of Paris, TN; two nephews, Scott Nanney of Paris, TN, and Kevin Nanney of Paris, TN; and three grandchildren, McKenna Skyy Gallimore, Madison Stone, and Devin Stone.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Rickey Nanney.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Monday, August 27, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Dr. Johnathan Smith officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will Matt Nanney, Dane Nanney, Scott Nanney, Kevin Nanney, Sonny Baker, and Ryan “Cartman” Parrish.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Veazey and Gerald Boyd.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
