Steven J. McFarland, age 81 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, in Paris.
He worked for many years managing grocery stores in Chicago, IL. Later he began working for medical supply stores, last working in Murray, KY. Steve loved music, sports, gardening, and flowers, especially his cactuses. He enjoyed working outside, traveling, and being “on the go.” He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris and the Knights of Columbus. Steve was a U.S. Army veteran.
Steve was born April 10, 1939, in Jefferson City, MO. He was married December 26, 1987, to Sandra McFarland, who preceded him in death on March 7, 2009.
He is survived by longtime companion and caregiver, Martha Dalton of Paris, and her children Michael Bone and Kim Bone and their families; four children, Laura Bero of Grayslake, IL, Karen Ruttenburg of Barrington, IL, Terri Tintori of Palm Beach ,Florida, and James McFarland of Panama City, FL; one sister-in-law, Karen Creger of Kentucky; one stepbrother, John Evenosich, two nephews, ten grandchildren; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Zooupon Evenosich, and his stepfather, John Evenosich.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. The body is to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 9:00 am – 10:45 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1210 East Wood Street, Paris, TN 38242, with a memorial mass beginning at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. Martin Orjianioke officiating.
