Shirley Sue Starnes

Shirley Sue Starnes, age 67, of Paris, TN, died on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN. 

She was born on April 5, 1957, in Lake County, TN, to the late Preston Allen Dean and to the late Betty Lou Fisher Boyd.

Shirley was married on June 28, 1975, to the late Robert Franklin Starnes, Sr who preceded her in death on August 25, 2024.

She was a member of Compassion Church. She enjoyed shopping, riding around with her dog, Rocky, and visiting casinos.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shannon (Paul) Hancock of Puryear, TN, and Jennifer (Brent) Norsworthy of Puryear, TN; one son, Derrick (Hope) Starnes of Paris, TN; six grandchildren, Valarie (Griffin) Butler, Tyler (Christen) Starnes, Ashley Luther, Troy Vance, Jackson Norsworthy, and Natalie Vance; four great-grandchildren, Bryson Butler, Avery Kate Butler, Ella Rose Butler, and Saylor Brooke Butler. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Lutishia Sisemore; and two brothers, Clifford Dean and William Dean.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Joy Weathersbee.

Kris Sisemore, Paul Hancock, Brent Norsworthy, Derrick Starnes, Griffin Butler, and Norman Hancock will serve as pallbearers.

Bryson Butler and Tyler Starnes will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
