Shirley Minnis

Shirley Minnis, age 81 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, August 19, 2021, at her daughter’s residence.

She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family.  Shirley enjoyed plants and puzzle books.  She was Baptist by belief.

Shirley was born September 20, 1939, in Springfield, TN, to the late Ray Jones and the late Gladys Dorris Jones.

She was married August 22, 1959, to Robert Minnis, who preceded her in death on February 16, 2004.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Sam) Crowder of Paris; her son Sandy (Jennifer) Minnis of Springville, TN; one sister, Pat Hyser of Whitehouse, TN; two brothers, Wayne (Laurene) Jones of Goodlettsville, TN, and Richard Jones of Whitehouse, TN; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Whitaker; and one brother, Carl Jones.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville, TN, with Jess Hedges officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
