Shirley Mae Bailey, age 78 of Paris, TN, died Friday, September 21, 2018, in Paris.
She was a member of TVCC, who enjoyed painting and crocheting. She was proud of her Native American Heritage. Shirley also worked with The Arc, an organization that helps individuals with physical and intelleucatul disabilities.
Shirley was born October 10, 1939, in Ridgely, TN, to the late Amo J.B. White and the late Lillie Mae Lingea Morris.
She was married in August 6, 1960 to Claude Lee Bailey Sr., who preceded her in death October 31, 2001.
She is survived by seven children, Samatha (Richie) Spears of Paris, TN, Shirley Jean Humphreys of Nashville, TN, Sherry (Charlie) Bowden of Paris, TN, Evelyn Jane (Mike) Payne of Terre Haute, IN, Claude Lee (Joanna) Bailey II of Thompson, ND, Justin Micheal Bailey of Paris, TN, and Amo Dale Buie of Tennessee; two sisters, Henrietta Cannon of Romona, CA, and Barbara Ann White of Alabama; one brother, J.B. White, Jr., of Tennessee; and her eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jennie Allen.
Her body is to be cremated in accordance to her wishes. Her ashes will be buried next to her husband at Birds’ Creek Cemetery in Paris.
