Savana "Vanda" Boyd

Savana “Vanda” Boyd, age 71 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

She retired from Dana Corporation after several years of employment.  She formerly worked for both Salant & Salant and Mar-kel Lighting here in Henry County, and for Sears in Chicago, IL.  She attended Bethesda United Methodist Church and enjoyed working around the farm.

Savana was born March 12, 1947, in Bulan, KY, to the late Gobel Watts and the late LaVerna Neese Watts.

She was married July 1, 1966 to Joseph “Jerry” Boyd, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Tanya (Tommy, Jr.) Madden of Paris, TN; one son, Gerald T. (Cherry) Boyd of Paris, TN; three sisters, Reva (Donnie) Bryant of Ashland, KY, Hershelene Delporte of North Aurora, IL, and Anita (Jerry) Miller of Lost Creek, KY; two brothers, Burgess (Lila) Watts of West Chicago, IL, and Gobel (Alberta) Watts, Jr., of Hobart, IN; three grandchildren, Dillon (Rachael) Madden of Paris, TN, Cole Madden of Paris, TN, and Ty Madden of Paris, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Glenna Miller; one brother, C.J. Watts; and two brothers-in-law, Tom Delporte and Melvin Miller.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and continue Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.  The funeral service will be Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Mike Wimberley officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Frantom, Doug Roberson, Ray Calvillo, Kenny Boyd, Gerald E. Boyd, and Burgess Watts, Jr.  Named as honorary pallbearers are her grandsons.

Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery in Paris, TN.
