Sarah Wofford

Sarah Joyce Wofford age 83 of Buchanan, TN, died Saturday, August 17, 2024, at her residence.

Sarah was born April 13, 1941, in Gallant, AL, to the late William Marion Beason and the late Ora Lee Arnold Beason.

She married Bailey Wofford March 25, 1975, and he preceded her in death March 19, 2010.

Sarah retired from Tecumseh after working many years in production. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, riding on the lake, and watching soap operas. She loved Alabama Football. Sarah was a member of the Buchanan Community Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Hamby of Paris, TN; a step daughter, Tina Kinnick of Fredericktown, MO; a sister, Mattie Williams of Buchanan, TN; a caregiver and nephew, Larry Boyles; 8 grandchildren, Dixie (Zack), Richard, Joseph, Johnnie, Zander, Dakota, Stephen, and Michael; 8 great grandchildren; and 42 nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the services. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 11 am until 1 pm. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 1 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Latricia Trull and Bennie Akers officiating. 

Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow the service in the Wofford Cemetery in Stewart County, TN.
