Sarah Scott

Sarah Elizabeth Scott, age 88 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at her residence.

She formerly worked in the office and was a general laborer at Emerson Electric. Working outside and spending time with her family were hobbies of hers. Sarah was a member of First Baptist Church and former member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Born March 28, 1931, in Henry, TN, she was the daughter of the late Tom Cate and the late Alma Wimbish Cate.

Sarah was married March 18, 1983, to John Scott who preceded in death July 25, 1992.

Survivors include her daughter, Valerie (Ricky) Caldwell; a daughter in law, Belinda Cochran; a sister, Faye Jones all of Paris; two grandchildren, Elizabeth “Libby” Caldwell and Bryan (Stephanie) Caldwell and a great grandchild, Caden Caldwell.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Wells; a son, Tommy Cochran; two sisters, Raye Powers and Martha Berlin; three brothers, James Cate, Reuben Cate and Edward “Billy” Cate; and a grandson, Dustin Caldwell.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242. Visitation will be held Monday, May 20, 2019, from 4 to 7 pm and continue Tuesday, May 21, 2019, after 10 am. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11 am in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Trent Bullock and Charles T. Cate officiating.

Pallbearers for the service are Ricky Caldwell, Bryan Caldwell, Jimmy Berlin, Michael Berlin, Charles T. Cate, and Caden Caldwell.

Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery.
