Sara Schoubye

Sara Anne Schoubye, age 65 of Paris, died Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

Sara formerly worked as an administrative assistant in a real estate office. She was member of the Antioch United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir. Sara also enjoyed being outside and gardening. Helping people was a passion in Sara’s life.

Born October 17, 1953, in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of the late George Hilliard and the late Frances Gardner Hilliard. She married Gerhard Schoubye June 17, 1988, who preceded her in death November 14, 1997.

She is survived by three children: Josh N. Douglas of San Luis Obispo, CA, Barbara A. Schoubye of  NY, and Carl (Yvonne) Schoubye of Cottage Grove, TN; two sisters: Elsie Rose and Helen Dwyer both of NY; seven brothers: Larry Hilliard, Paul Hilliard, Ray Hilliard, Tommy Hilliard, Jimmy Hilliard, and George Hilliard Jr. all of NY, and David Hilliard of AZ; four grandchildren: Brea Nicole (Hunter) Lindsey, Aislynn Kayli Lee, Grayson Gardestig and Matthew Schoubye; and one great grandchild, Jasper Lee.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charles Hilliard, and Bobby Hilliard.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242.

A memorial service is to be held Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at the Antioch United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Linda Hilliard officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
