Sam A. Goodman, Jr.

Sam A. Goodman, Jr., age 81 of Huntingdon, TN, died Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

He retired as the Regional Manager of the Tennessee Department of Rehabilitation & Human Services.  He was a former member of the Lakeway Kiwanis Club, and spent multiple years as an assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 72 in Camden, TN.  Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and loved following his grandchildren to soccer and football games and going to the lake.

Samuel was born January 28, 1940, in Murray, KY, to the late Samuel Albert Goodman, Sr., and the late Martha Sue Purdom Goodman.

He was married August 20, 2005, to Judith Morris Goodman, who survives, of Huntingdon, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two children, Al (Danielle) Goodman of Medina, TN, and Ranson (Karen) Goodman of Springville, TN; three stepchildren, Nan (Jeff) Barnett of Huntingdon, TN, Tommy (Charlotte) Belew of Huntingdon, TN, and Brad (Kelly) Belew of Manila, AR; one sister, Joe Ann (Mike) Sullivan of Highland, IL; one brother, Edd Lee (Martha) Goodman of Paris; four grandchildren, Aly Goodman, Madi Goodman, Grant Goodman, and Hunter Goodman; eight step grandchildren, Clint Barnett, Drew Barnett, Cale Belew, Cramer Belew, Bhe Belew, Ashton Belew, Conner Belew, and Daley Belew; and seven step great grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, 18, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Murray City Cemetery in Murray, KY, with Bro. Henry Simpson officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Goodman, Grant Goodman, Al Goodman, Ranson Goodman, Mike Scheller, and Clint Barnett.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Edd Lee Goodman and Bobby Gregory.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Murray City Cemetery.
