Ruth Willoughby

Ruth Ann Willoughby age 63 of Paris died Friday, October 28, 2022, in Paris.

Ruth had formerly worked as an aide at the RoseStone Retirement Community until her health declined. She loved working in her yard, spending time with her family, and painting things. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church.

She was born February 14, 1959, in Dickson, TN, to the late Morley Robert Bates and the late Bertha Smith Bates. Ruth married Gary L. Willoughby October 22, 1984, who preceded her in death January 28, 2021.

Survivors include her children, Brandi (Daniel) Witherspoon of Big Sandy and William R. (Lalania Gray) Baynes of Dresden; sons, Aaron (Tracy McWherter) Willoughby, and Brian Willoughby, both of Paris; a brother, Richard Bates of Clarksville; eight grandchildren, Brandon Dunlap, Dylan Baynes, Natalie Baynes, Ty Willoughby, Jase Willoughby, David Witherspoon, Jamie Witherspoon, and Melissa Adams; and two great grandchildren, Caroline Dunlap, and Tristan Baynes.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother William Bates.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788 Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 11 am until 2 pm. The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2 pm, with Russell Ragsdale officiating.

Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
