Mrs. Ruth Helen Seymour Vance was born in Sidonia, TN and grew up in the area until marrying and moving to Chicago, as many people did in the 1940's seeking work.
Mrs. Vance had worked in Chicago at Marshall Fields and returned to Tennessee prior to her marriage. Johnnie Lloyd Vance of Greenfield, TN and Helen married December 24,1941 and lived in Chicago area for about 30 years raising 3 sons: Lloyd Wayne, Danny Kaye, and Eddie Dean Vance.
She was a mother and housewife until the boys grew-up, then she and Lloyd returned home to Tennessee and purchased a home on Reynoldsburg Road in Paris. They later acquired the old Brown's Grocery on Brewer Street in Paris TN.
When Mr. Vance passed away she moved to Fairview St. and became a good friend and neighbor while attending the Fairview Baptist Church.
She was a good wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Lloyd Vance December 6, 1984, her parents Elvis and Pearl Axiom Seymour, brothers Robert Seymour, Donald (Evelyn) Seymour, and younger sister Ruby Seymour.
She is survived by her Three sons, Lloyd Wayne (Wanda-deceased) Vance, Paris TN, Danny (Theresa) Vance of IL, Eddie Dean Vance, Camden TN; Grandchildren: Jeffrey Brian Vance, Lake Zurich IL, Jennifer Ann (Josh) Krepel, Algonquin, IL and Great-grandchild: Lily Ann Krepel, Algonquin IL
The funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 12 p.m. Saturday until her service at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Vance will be entombed at Rose Lawn Mausoleum in Paris alongside her husband.
