Russel Allen Rogers, Sr., age 88 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.
He was a foreman in the steel industry for many years. Russel was a Korean War veteran with the 11th Airborne Division in the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post 89. He loved fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also enjoyed traveling and camping.
Russel was born July 16, 1931, in Cleveland, OH, to the late George Ridgway and the late Helen Hirt Ridgway.
He was married June 20, 1955, to Lydia L. Udrow Rogers, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Laura Rogers Cumby of Largo, FL; one daughter-in-law, Cyndi Rogers of Cleveland, OH; one brother, George (Mary) Ridgway of St. Augustine, FL; two grandchildren, Erica (Colin) Hogue, and Russel “Rusty” Rogers, III; and two great grandchildren, Peyton Hogue and Parker Hogue.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Russel Rogers, Jr.; one son-in-law, Michael Cumby; and two sisters, Jerri Lamont and Ruth Zeller.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN. The body is to be cremated with no services scheduled.
