Ruby Clark Davenport, age 94, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Camden Healthcare and Rehab Center in Camden, Tenn.
She was married April 6, 1938 to James Davenport he preceded in death August 16, 1973.
Ruby was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and nursery worker and very active in the church for many years. She formerly owned and operated the City Cafe in mid 1960's and formerly worked at the Dairy Queen and Plumley Rubber Co. in Paris, TN.
She was born February 10, 1920 in Cottage Grove, TN to the late Eugene Sam Clark and the late Beulah McLeod Clark.
She is survived by her One Daughter, Mary (Tommy) Bonds of Camden, Tenn; One Son, James R. (Debra) Davenport of Big Sandy, Tenn; One Sister, Helen Marie Newsome of Puryear, Tenn; 16 Grandchildren; 39 Great Grandchildren; 31 Great-Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great-Great Grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Ruby was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Sandra P. McDaniel; Daughter-in-law, Waltraud Davenport; Sisters, Martha Lucille Wimberly, Lillian Dale Bratton, Betty Sue Crews, and Mae Sawyers; Brothers, Sterling McLeod Clark, Eugene Marion Clark, Will Preston Clark, Robert Sam Clark, Charles Mitchell Clark, John Hubert Clark, Herbert Porter Clark, and Lester Thomas Clark.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn. where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Friday, January 30, 2015 and after 12 pm until the service Saturday, January 31, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:30 pm Saturday, January 31, 2015.
Billy Ross will officiate. Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Newport, Tracey Newport, James Drinkard, Joshua Leaver, Austin Davenport, Kyle Bratton, Matthew Robertson, and Nathan Robertson.
Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
