Roy L. Dillon, age 84 of Puryear, TN, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at his residence.
He retired after many years from Ford Motor Company where he worked in engine assembly. He also formerly worked at Holley Carburetor in Paris and then went to work for Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY, as a security guard. Roy loved gardening, growing purple hull peas, and playing cards. He was a member of the Senior Citizens Centers in both Paris and Murray.
Roy was born June 16, 1936, in Springville, TN, to the late Doss Dillon and the late Edna Mae Winsett Dillon.
He is survived by his four daughters, Gale Dillon Vickery of Paris, Tammie (Frank) Holcomb of Paris, Melody Wallace of Jackson, TN, and Tracy Melton of Paris; four sisters, Janice Graves of Paris, Carolyn Dean of Paris, Linda Berry of Puryear, TN, and Judy Tate of Paris; one brother, James Dillon of Paris; three grandchildren, Gregg Barnhart, Eddie Hilt, and Matthew (Holly) Niebauer; and five great grandchildren, Lily Barnhart, Dylan Hilt, Treya Edwards, Bella Edwards, and Luke Niebauer.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Loretta Joan “Joni” Dillon Keesee; and three sisters, Borenda Blackburn, Helen Dillon, and Faye Myers.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. The body is to be cremated with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
