Ronnie Cox

Ronnie Cox, age 78 of Springville, TN, died Wednesday, April 29, 2020, in Nashville, TN.

Ronnie was born June 24, 1941, in Paris, TN, to the late Raymond Baxter Cox and the late Paytre Lillian Nichols Cox.

He was married December 22, 1994, to Virginia Ann “Ginny” Trumbull Cox, who survives, of Springville, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by seven children, Ruth Harper of Huron, TN, Donald Rhea Cox of Paris, TN, Shane Cox of Paris, TN, Shelly Rainey of Paris, TN, Sherry Gladstone of Springville, TN, Kevin Gladstone of Belleville, MI, and Scott Finley of Ypsilanti, MI; one sister, Patricia Hopkins of Paris, TN; 19 Grandchildren; and 15 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Shawn Cox; and two brothers, Jerry Dan Cox and Robert “Chocolate” Cox.

He retired after 57 years as a truck driver.  He loved his time on the road, running double with his wife, Punkin.  He had a huge heart and adored his family and friends.  Ronnie’s passion was driven by being a “shade tree mechanic”, working on cars and lawn mowers.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  His greatest joy besides Punkin “Ginny” in life was helping raise his two grandsons, Jared Doyle and Justin Gladstone.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
