Ronald Coy "Ron" Horner

Ronald Coy “Ron” Horner, age 87 of Springville, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at his residence.

He retired as a major in the US Army, and also served in the US Navy, the Naval reserves, the Army National Guard, and proudly served in Vietnam. Ron was a member of the American Legion Post 89, VFW Post 1889, and Woodmen of the World. He was a member of McDavid’s Grove Baptist Church. He was a volunteer for the Worlds Biggest Fish Fry, was a UT Alum, a diehard Tennessee football and St. Louis Cardinal Fan, and he enjoyed playing golf.

Ron was born August 22, 1937, in Jackson, TN to the late Dennis Cornelious Horner and the late Cordie Mae Webb Horner.

He was married on August 29, 1969, to Mary Jane Morris Horner and she survives of Springville, TN. He is also survived by two daughters, Samantha Horner of Dresden, OH, and Carla Horner of Frazeysburg, OH, one grandchild, Garrett Coy Lytton; and caregivers, Nykki Jumper, Q’Vonte Jumper, Trevon Pinder, Robert Jumper, and Teresa Porter. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10 – 11am with the funeral service to be at 11:00 am with Chad Kennedy officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Q’Vonte Jumper, Trevon Pinder, Robert Jumper, Mike Wallsmith, Billy Lane, and Garrett Coy Lytton.

Burial will follow at 1:30 pm Monday in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads in Wildersville, TN.
