Roland D. Cole

Roland D. Cole, age 85 of Mansfield, TN, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He was a former construction worker and a lifelong farmer.  He was member of Mansfield Baptist Church.

Roland was born October 24, 1932 in Mansfield, TN to the late Jamie Cole and the late Jewel Neal Cole.

He was married September 24, 1954, to Wilma Ruth Smith Cole, who preceded him in death on October 24, 2012.

He is survived by two grandsons, Christopher Ashby of Mansfield, TN, and Blaine Ashby of Paris, TN; three great grandchildren, Saylor Ashby, Sayge Ashby, and Travis Ashby; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith Nichols of Paris, TN; and three nephews, Tony Cooper, Mike Cooper, and Tracey Cooper all of Texas.

Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jamie Sue Cole; one sister, Dovie Cooper; and one brother, Wallace “Wac” Cole.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2017, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 11:00 am at Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in Mansfield, TN, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Edwards, Earl Williams, Leon Rogers, Randall Neal, Philip Todd, and Clay Nolen.

Burial will follow in Shiloh Methodist Cemetery.
