Robert William “Bob” Bertouille, age 87 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.
Bob began his work career at the Ford Trade School and went on to became an engineer working for Ford Motor Co as well as Garlock, Crossman Arms, and Precision Rubber Company where he transitioned into sales. He then moved to Paris and began his career at Plumley Rubber Company where he worked in engineering and sales for 27 years. He retired in 1998 as Vice President of Sales. Bob’s true passion was God, family, and Church. He truly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a Gideon for over four decades, where he had served as State President and traveled the world representing the Gideon organization. He also served as a board member for Tomorrow’s Hope and helped design the new medical clinic and pregnancy center. After retirement, he was able to travel the United States with the love of his life, his wife, Madalyn. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and choir member. He was a current member of Tennessee Valley Community Church in Paris, and served in the US Naval Reserve.
Bob was born May 22, 1930, in Dearborn, MI, to the late Fernand August Bertouille and the late Ella Williams Bertouille.
He was married August 22, 1953, to Madalyn Joyce Wallace Bertouille, who preceded him in death on May 3, 2015.
He is survived by one daughter, Diane (Gary) Graves of Trenton, TN; one son, Paul (Jan) Bertouille of Paris, TN; one daughter-in-law, Rebecca Bertouille of Palmyra, IN; one sister, Phila Mae “Faye” Harris of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Bertouille, Michael Timothy Bertouille, Andrea Marie Graves, Ethan Dickson Graves, and Micah Bertouille Graves.
Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one son, Timothy Wallace Bertouille; one sister, Clementine Williams; three brothers, Fernand Bertouille Jr., Edward Bertouille, and Desire Bertouille; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Bertouille.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Tuesday, October 17, 2017, from 4 - 7 pm, and continue on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 9 – 11 am. The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Trent Bullock and Larry Simmons officiating.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Whitfield, Mike Williams, Doug Neeley, George Wofford, Vern Steedley, and Randy Scholes. Named as honorary pallbearers are Richard Kuehmichel, Sarah Bertouille, Michael Bertouille, Andrea Graves, Ethan Graves, and Micah Graves.
Entombment will follow in Rose Lawn Mausoleum in Paris, TN.
