Robert “Shag” Collins, 63, of Paris died Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville.
Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the service at 2 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Methodist Episcopal Cemetery in Paris.
Collins was born June 13, 1949, to the late Marion B. and Chester Harrellson Collins.
He was married in March 1993 to Judy Hardin Collins, who survives.
Collins was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Paris. A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the U.S. Army.
He retired as a driver for the Department of Children’s Services in Paris.
Collins is survived by two daughters: Tonya (Brian) Buxton of Bartlett and Marie (Ted) Lee of Brentwood; two sons: Stephen (Teresa) Collins of Puryear and Wesley Hardin of Olive Branch, Miss.; a sister: Rita (Warren) Lamb of Puryear; a brother: William Billy Collins of Puryear; and eight grandchildren: Shelby, Brandon and Libby Buxton, Ashton and Peyton Lee, Darby and Charlie Collins, and Jordan Hardin.
