Robbye C. Owens

Robbye C. Owens, age 79 of Paris, TN, died Monday, April 2, 2018, in Dover, TN.

She was the former secretary at Cottage Grove School for several years.  She also worked as the former bookkeeper for the Paris Post-Intelligencer for many years.  After her retirement, she was employed by the Audiology & Hearing Aid Clinic in Paris.  She attended Cottage Grove Church of Christ in her early years, then attended Tennessee Valley Community Church in her latter years.  She loved her flowers.

Robbye was born July 16, 1938, in Cottage Grove, TN, to the late Allen William “Bill” Cox and the late Hester Elizabeth Bynum Cox.

She was married December 8, 1961, to James Rudy Owens, who preceded her in death on February 29, 2004.

She is survived by a son-in-law, Terry Collins of Dover, TN; two grandchildren, Tawna (Carlton) Tomlinson of Erin, TN, and Skyler (Christa) Collins of Houston County, TN; and five great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Renea Collins; one sister, Willie Duckett; and one brother, James Allen Cox.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN, with Bennie Akers officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Chandler, Mike Chandler, Tony Owens, Doug Bush and other friends and family members.

Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
