Robbie Nell Thompson

Robbie Nell Thompson, age 67 of Puryear, TN, died Monday, June 22, 2020, at her residence.

She was an LPN for many years at Puryear Nursing Home, then went on to serve as a caregiver and special caregiver to Mrs. Jackie Claxton for 12 years.  She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Paris.  Nell enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, and her flowers.  She loved taking care of her family and her puppy dogs Buddy, Cotton, Mister, and Paco.

Nell was born September 3, 1952, in Paris, TN, to the late Martin Eugene Lindsey and the late Ruby Mae Conway Lindsey.

She was married February 15, 1969, to Larry Dan Thompson, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2013.

She is survived by three daughters, Tressa Prince and special friend Eddie Gaskins of Buchanan, TN, Amanda Thompson and special friend Jim Crews of Columbia, TN, and Kristi Thompson and special friend Alvie Milliken of Puryear, TN; one brother, Bobby (Kat) Lindsey of Puryear, TN; six grandchildren, Michael Prince, David Grant McManis, Cody Prince, Heather Ratliff, Lindsey Ratliff, and Hailey Thompson; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Gail Skinner; one sister, Mary Louise Lamb; twin brother, Roger Dale Lindsey; and one grandson, Scott Daniel Hawks.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 11:00 am at Birds Creek Cemetery, 2207 Whitlock Road, Paris, TN, with Micheal Barnhart and Chad Kennedy officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Prince, Grant McManis, Cody Prince, Ricky Lindsey, Alvie Milliken, and Duhl Evans.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Chad Thompson, Neil Thompson, Kevin Paschall, and Bobby Lindsey, Jr.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Bird’s Creek Cemetery.
