Richard Wayne "Rick" Mayfield

Richard Wayne “Rick” Mayfield, age 70 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.

He retired after many years from Ford Motor Company in Michigan where he worked in assembly.  Rick enjoyed woodworking and taking care of his chickens.  He was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Paris.

Rick was born March 13, 1949, in Birmingham, AL, to the late John Thomas Mayfield and the late Twyler Marie Mays Mayfield.

He was married June 19, 1987, to Barbara Forrest Mayfield, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Heidi (Kevin) Bergeson of Ann Arbor, MI, and Carolyn Mayfield of Murray, KY; four sons, Richard (Tammy) Mayfield, Jr., of Westland, MI, Ronald Dean Mayfield of Michigan, Phillip (Shanda) Mayfield of Prescott, MI, and Michael Mayfield of Paris, TN; one daughter-in-law, Sheri Mayfield of Michigan; three sisters, Brenda Barrett of Crossville, TN, Rhonda (Dan) Dawson of Belleville, MI, and Cheryl McKenzie of Ypsilanti, MI; many grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Roger Dale Mayfield; and two brothers, Bo Mayfield and Ronny Mayfield.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Monday, July 8, 2019, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Johnny Farmer officiating.

Cremation will follow the funeral service.
