Richard Edward "Rick" Depaul, Jr.

Richard Edward DePaul, Jr. (Rick), age 76 of Springville, TN, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his wife and children.

He retired from Miller Brewing as Special Projects Team Leader in 2001.  He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment – Blackhorse and a lifetime member of the VFW.  Rick graduated from California State University of Fullerton in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.  He enjoyed boating and classic cars and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Rick was born May 9, 1946, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Richard Edward DePaul, Sr., and the late Rosemary Glasser.

He was married July 9, 1996, to Lori Jean Kaufman DePaul, who survives, of Springville, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by three daughters, Danielle Sweet of Norco, CA, Lauren (Christian) DePaul Trumbach of Oceanside, CA, and Gina DePaul of Arroyo Grande, CA; one brother, Larry (Teresa) DePaul; and three grandchildren, Morgan Sweet, Zachary Sweet, and Ryan Sweet.

In addition to his mother and father, he was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Betty DePaul; and two sisters, Jeanne Durgin and Cathy DePaul.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated.  A memorial gathering will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, at 4:00 pm at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 200 Bethesda Road, Paris, TN 38242.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Sept 10, 2022, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the South County VFW Post 10978, 140 S Thompson Ave, Nipomo CA 93444.

A local Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the DePaul Family Home, 230 Timberlake Road,  Springville, TN 38256.

The family has requested memorials be made to the South County VFW Post 10978, 140 S. Thompson Ave., Nipomo, CA 93444, or to the HCMC Hospice 311 East Wood St., Paris, TN 38242.
