Richard Dean Duff, age 75, of Springville, Tenn., died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.
He retired from US Marines after 20 plus years. He received the Pistol Expert Badge; Rifle Expert Badge; National Defense Service Metal; Vietnam Campaign Metal; Combat Action Ribbon; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry; Vietnam Service Metal; Meritorious Unit Commendation while in the service.
He also worked as a self employed small business owner for several years. Richard enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Amvets, MOAA-Military Officers Association of America.
He was the son of the late Thomas Charles Fay Duff and the late Shirley Mae Nicodemus Shavr.
He is survived by his Two Daughters, Ashley (Jason) Langley of Buchanan, Tenn., Tami (Brian) Bent of California; Two Sons, Rod Duff of Chicago, Ill., Richie (Brandi) Kretzschmar of Springville, Tenn.
Two Sisters, Sharon Ray of Oregon, Shirley Faye Sforza of California; One Brother, Tom Duff of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and 2 great Grandchildren.
Richard was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Sherril Duff and Ronald Gene Duff.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, Tenn.
He is to be cremated.
